Reminds me of Blade Runner

Wow, I have some snapshots of
a girlfriend of mine I'd like
to have
3d-ified... hehe

thanks. I love Glenn Gould.

It seems to me that the
pathway that the camera
follows is strictly limited
by the information contained
in the original photograph.
Instances of
paralax are bound to be only
subtractive - meaning you see
less of the
object, never more. You would
obviously never be able to use
this
technology to, say, see around
a corner, or in a window-the
information
simply isn't present. So
freely "roaming" inside a
picture is out of the
question, but a
computer-controlled,
strictly-pre-mapped flythrough
is
possible. Very cool, but it
still doesn't fix the problem
with the scene in
Blade Runner the commenter
above mentions, unless you
conjecture that the
snapshots of the future
contain more information than
is visible to the eye
for some reason.

Quite cool--- is it an
automatic Z-channel? Hafta be
some handwork there,
eh? If only to extract the
areas to be examined. Please
post more info.
Thanks!

Perhaps in the future they
will be able to incorporate
this with the
reading of diffuse reflected
light patterns to produce
approximations of
out-of-view areas...

No shit, Sherlock. One can
only work with the information
available. The
interesting thing is the
different perspective.
